An excellent book! I’ve read it many times. If your thinking of going into the business, read this book, then do a proper protection course. It will help you to understand whats going on in the industry. Its a great reference book to refer back to, over time.
I have read your book several times which helped me get through my Ronin Concept Hostile Enviroment Course. I have recommended This to several of my team mates who were very interested in what i was reading. I found the book very informative and easily digesting which makes life easy whilst travelling to various countries.
THIS IS A NON STOPPABLE BOOK TO READ,I HAVE READ THE MODERN BODYGUARD AS WELL,BUT THIS BOOK IS BETTER.ALL I NEED IS A GOOD TRAINING COMPANY TO HELP ME TO GET ON THE LADDER,DO YOU HAVE ANY GOOD LEADS,AS THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY COWBOY OUTFITS OUT THERE,WHERE THEY JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT A RECOGNIZED CERTICATE OR PROPER TRAINING,ALSO ARE THERE ANY TRAINING DVDS OUT THERE MANY THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR SPEEDY SERVICE AND BOOK JOHN BENZYNIE
hi mate just finished the book its the tops brings back loads of good memories of some good years with one of the best teams on the planet hope you and yours are all ok.best regards JF-T
After reading another book, The Modern Bodyguard by Peter Consterdine I nearly did not buy this book. Thankfully I did, some aspects overlap but I feel you covered everything in a much more understanding way as well as much more depth.
I have been in the C.P industry for a long while and this is by far the most accurate and comprehensive book i have had the privelidge to own it is not only accurate but very helpful to jog the grey cells now and again to stop the evil complacency setting in that goes with age.
I will recomend this book to all the guys i work with and those new boys i am training in the role great book and great value buy it dont regret it you will if you dont.
Thank you very much for this good book it proving very useful. I would like to buy 100 copies for my training organization can you please tell me price.
Got my book here in Canada, it only took 4 days!!! This is a very good publication I enjoyed it. We do some things a little differently here, but essentially this stuff is sound and i have learned a lot. Kudos
At last a properly researched and presented book about our industry. I am not British like the author but I love the humor in the book. Don’t get me wrong, I know its a serious book but I really like the way you present the information, and there is a LOT of information, pertinent information. A very good book!
Got bought this book for Christmas by my girlfriend. I have been in the industry for 7 years on and off, I would never have bought a book about close protection as all those I have seen have been dire crap. I was very surprised at the whole professional tone of the book, it is full of good stuff and I am not ashamed to say that I have learned a plenty.
Hello, I thought I would add my comments to your page. I really liked the book. Its a great read and for thicko’s like me there were lots of pics too. Joking over, your book is easily the best bodyguard book out there.
I’ve shipped this book in two months ago on request of a buddy.
I’ve kept this copy and got him another one.
This book is a great and comprehensive book that covers it all.
The book has been in my loo for 3 weeks now! But please don’t take that the wrong way. I leave it there as I like to dip into it twice a day, and in peace. It a very informative read. Thanks for writing it.
Just thought I would add to the glowing testimonials you have here. I have been in this industry for a number of years and I only bought it out of curiosity. I was impressed at the quality content. Thanks
I honestly thought that the book would struggle to live up to the hype The thing is it did that and more, this is much more than a book to me, this is the kickstart to my new career. Your book has made me realise that this is what I want to do. Other writing has made me wonder if this was an industry full of ego’s Clearly you do not suffer this and I really enjoyed it. Well done.
Got my book here in Chicago in just 3 days!!! read it in one go, took me all of the weekend!! No I will go through it again and again at leisure. It is a very good book, with plenty of detail and real world examples. Much better than any we have published here in the States, Oh and the forms from the book look good too, just downloaded them. Thanks
Mr Brown.
I attended the Excel course back in April 2002.
Very informative, useful book. I do not intend to get another book on the subject as everything a person needs on the CP proffesion is in this one. Good work.
John.
just fort id say what a fantastic book, it has taught me alot as im new to the industry im a security officer at the moment but hope to do my cp course this year, and im taking the book with me to gie me a head start.
James,
I spotted your book while surfing bodyguard sites and purchased it on Monday afternoon 4.08.08. It was delivered the following morning and I have just finished it this morning, Friday 8.08.08. Excellent read, extremely informative and amusing in places. I perticularly liked the chapter on protocols.I have recently retired after 28 years service with the Royal Ulster Constabulary (GC)/PSNI and am intending to enter your domain soon. I am doing a CP course in September and will make sure your book is with me for advise and guidance. (You signing it was a nice touch).
What a fantastic, informative book, I borrowed it a Month ago, read it cover to cover more than once, but now the owner wants it back so I have just ordered my own copy not 5 minutes ago!!! Can you sign it “To Mandy” I work as a security officer and I will ensure that this book is with me all the time. Thank you Mandy Louden – Miami USA
Hi Phill, you do not need a password. When you want to download stuff that is for members only you will be asked for passwords that you can only know if you have the book. Things like what is the first word on page 21? etc.
Glad you enjoyed the book and thanks for your reccomendation
I had The Bodyguard’s Bible bought for me as a gift, and have enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to anybody with an intrest in that type of work. I did not get a password with the book and would like it to use the book to its full potential. How do I get this password?
fantastic book on a very comprehensive subject matter. I have read it cover to cover and use it for reference, and as a basis for my SOPs. Was great to see the chapter on protocol! Have let a lot of the team read that chapter!!
Just one stumbling point, I brought my copy from Amazon and have not got a password for the members section of your sight.. Could you please rectify this.
Best Regards
Andy Wade
What can I say! Mr Brown, your book is a great reference and guide for anybody working in or new to the industry. From opening to end, it reinforced everything that I was taught on your Basic and Intermediate courses even though this was back in 1996, the book blow the cobwebs away and refreshed a few things that I had forgot over the years. I would advise anybody looking for courses to check out Excel Security, over the years the knowledge that I was taught has certainly help me find well paid employment and even help survive in some pretty rough situations.
The books one of the easiest to understand. I just got back from Iraq and if the book was not pinned down it kept going walkies, as somebody would just start reading it and end up wondering away with it…. but every body elses books stayed still.
I was hoping it was going to be good because the $$ cost for the book and for shipping here to the USA were high. Well I Just wanted to say a great book and some of your techniques are a revelation to me. You will be getting other orders from my colleagues.
The book got quick to me here in Michigan. Its pretty impressive gear an better than anything I have read so far, I enjoyd the section on adrenaline, You wrote it so even i could understand it. Thank you sir
A very good book. I have been involved with executive protection
for some years and have a large library of related books. I feel
it is of the utmost importance to stay up to date and I´m not ashamed
to say I learnt something from a Book. Thanks
If I had the time again, this is the book I would like to have written about Close Protection. It extends the subject matter that’s in my book to a more than comprehensive level. The detail and quality of the text, photos and illustrations is excellent.
In todays world of very dubious training organisations the Bodyguard’s Bible is a beacon of realistic and theoretical training information, based upon years of experience.
An excellent book. My partner who only has a passing interest in Close protection hogged it(he loved it) so I have only just been able to seriously get stuck into it. The book is just so much more comprehensive than my course notes, how I wish I had this book on my course, it really is good. Thanks
I would like to say how much I enjoyed the book. I took it on my course and even my instructor kept dipping into it! At the end of our course the your book was awarded to each the three best students! One of whom was me!!! So now I have two copies.
Got the book the day after I bought it. Very impressed so far. I will read it thoroughly over the next couple of weeks and then come back and post a proper review. First impressions though are really good. I cant wait ti get stuck in.
Nice site, nice book, I bet you are a nice man! Great stuff mate
